School
A Jewish synagogue as an institution has many responsibilities. One of the foremost of these responsibilities is to provide for the religious education of our youth. This is a joint endeavor. The synagogue community must provide the classrooms, teachers and scholastic supplies. All of these are useful only if we have students to teach. The Torah teaches us that it is the responsibility of parents to provide for the religious education of their children and we at Temple Shalom Religious School are honored to have been entrusted with this task. This is best accomplished if in addition to bringing their children to the Religious School the parents are active members of the synagogue, attending services and participating in other synagogue sponsored events. They teach by their example that being Jewish is an important part of their life. We at Temple Shalom are blessed with a vibrant Religious School complete with 26 students, 5 class levels and committed parents, teachers and volunteers. The transmission of our faith L’dor Vador (from generation to generation) is a Jewish principle we take seriously. With the help of our entire Jewish community we will continue this most important and sacred task. Joseph Goldovitz
